The Bismarck High School Demonettes are going to Orlando, Fl this weekend to compete at the National Dance Alliance Competition in Universal Studios.

The Demonettes, made up of 17 dancers including 10 seniors, will attend NDA Nationals for the second year in a row. Last year, the Demonettes became the only team from North Dakota at NDA who placed in the top three and were finalists in two categories. They took home a 3rd place trophy in the Small Varsity High Kick division and 8th place in Medium Varsity Pom.

They will compete in four different categories: High Kick, Pom, Jazz and Hip Hop. Along with their JV team, the Demonettes received 17 first place trophies this season including a regional Hip Hop title. Varsity became State Hip Hop Champions for the fifth year in a row and took first place in the Pom category. On top of their success, the Demonettes were invited to perform two routines at the University of Minnesota 'Best of the Best' show.

The Bismarck Demonettes were established in 1962 as one of the first drill teams in the state. This dedicated group of girls start their season during the summer perfecting a routine to compete with at NDA camp, where they qualify for the national competition. The Demonettes don't slow down afterward as they continue to build their endurance and begin choreographing/learning routines for competition season.
