In terms of cities with populations between 20,000 and 350,000, Bismarck ranks pretty well among the best places to live in the U.S.

According to a list compiled by Livability, Bismarck ranks 7th on the list of "Best Places to Live" in 2016. The study was done by the NYU School of Professional Studies. The criteria was based on eight different sets of criteria including amenities, demographics, economy, education, health care, housing, social and civic capital, and transportation and infrastructure. In this study, Bismarck was one of the most consistent cities with its scores across the board for each of these categories, with its highest scores coming from housing, amenities, and health.

Bismarck wasn't alone on the list as the only city from North Dakota either. Fargo ranked 15th, Grand Forks was 28th, and Dickinson came in at 60th. Bismarck's ranking for this year was up several spots from 2015 when it ranked 51st.

So next time you're thinking how you could like living somewhere else, remember that with all general living conditions considered, we have it pretty good right here in Bismarck.
