The annual Autumn Fest Parade rolled through downtown Bismarck Saturday morning with the streets lined with enthusiastic families and friends waiting for the big moment.

One thing about Bismarck and the surrounding area, we love a parade. The weather was grey at the start of the parade, no rain, just cloudy. One more thing I noticed about the many parades I have participated in, Bismarck-Mandan loves to bring their dogs to the parade which is why I am always sure to leave the candy throwing to the other Townsquare Media vehicles. I would rather meet the dogs and give the owners a treat for the dog. It's no surprise, I love dogs!

The Autumn Fest parade did not disappoint. The event had marching bands but also featured local businesses and it's obvious it is the political season as many candidates and representatives from their campaign were out with their smiles and stickers.

Scott Johnson, the parade organizer smiled and said "what a great day for a parade".

Indeed it was, rain or shine, the Autumn Fest parade is always fun.

The parade also serves as a vehicle to get a crowd downtown to attend the final day of the Bismarck Street Fair.
