A 12 year old boy in Enderlin, North Dakota awaiting a liver transplant distracts himself from the pain with phone books.

Alex Leach wanted something to read one day and his parents didn't have anything for him. So they gave him a phone book.

Phone books are pretty obsolete these days and maybe that's why it brings Alex so much joy.

After his mother Candi gave him the phone book that first time, he didn't put it down for three days his mother tells Grand Forks Herald.

Alex is on a waitlist for a transplant but until his name gets called, he wants more phone books to comb through. He would love phone books from all around the state and the country.

You can send phone books if you have any to the WDAY TV studios located at 301 8th Street South in Fargo. The zip code is 58103.
