It's been awhile since we've heard any new music from Brandy. So what a surprise on Sunday (July 13) when the R&B songbird debuted her beautiful cover of Coldplay's hit single 'Magic' from their album, 'Ghost Stories.'

Brandy reinterprets Coldplay's original song and completely makes it her own. Over a subtle guitar groove and pounding drums, she sings about a past love that once put a spell on her.

"Call it magic / I call it truth / I call it magic / When I'm with you / I just got broken / Broken into two / I call it magic / When I'm next to you," she coos in her airy falsetto.

This may be a sign that Brandy is ready to love again since ending her engagement with ex-fiance Ryan Press earlier this year.

"And if you were to ask me / After all we been through / 'Still believe in magic?' / Yes, I do / Yes, I do," she sings near the end of the song.

Brandy has always cited Coldplay as a major influence on her songwriting. In fact, on the singer's 2004 album, 'Afrodisiac,' she sampled 'Clocks' on her lush ballad 'Should I Go' as a nod to the British rock band.

No, thank you Brandy for recording such a magical song.
