The Midwestern Sectionals Competition, held in Minneapolis this past weekend (Feb. 1 & 2), saw four teams from the Capital Ice Synchronized Skating Club compete -- and all four took home medals.

Coach Becky Gallion's four oldest teams held the audience captive and astounded the judges, doing their coach and their hometown proud:

  • The open juvenile team, the Capital Ice Chill Team, took home the bronze medal in their division.
  • The preliminary division, Capital Ice Cadence nabbed 4th place in their competition.
  • The pre-juvenile team, the Capital Ice Crystals, earned a silver medal.
  • The Capital Ice Chips earned an impressive score of 65.05 and took home, not only the gold medal, but also the highest intermediate level score in the country.

After competing in Fargo the weekend of the 14th and 15th, the Capital Ice Chips move on to the National Synchronized Figure Skating Competition, to be held in Providence, Rhode Island on Feb. 26.

Good luck, ladies!
