According to the Uniform Crime Report, released earlier today, crime rose 7.9% in North Dakota in 2012, compared to 2011.

According to Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem, officials are most concerned about the number of rapes, aggravated assaults, and human trafficking.

Drug and driving under the influence arrests also rose in 2012, according to The Bismarck Tribune.

To put North Dakota's crime rate into perspective, Bismarck Tribune writer Nick Smith tweeted the following:

Found an interesting comparison crime-wise #NorthDakota vs. native state of Michigan. 20 murders in 2012 in ND; City of Flint, MI: 66
