Police officers from all over the state will go to Dickinson next week for the 105th Peace Officers Association conference.

The annual conference will run from August 16th through 19th and will include several training meetings and events. Such events are golf and fishing tournaments, shooting and K-9 competitions, a Texas Hold 'Em tournament, a BBQ, and a banquet.

A 5K fun run/walk, known as the 5K Foot Pursuit, which supports the NDPOA, will also take place. The event is open to the public at the Public Safety Center and begins Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

The majority of the three-day event will happen at the Ramada Grand Dakota Hotel.

The NDPOA's mission reflects a positive image of Law Enforcement Practitioners, to assist them in providing safety, security, and protection of the rights of individuals, regardless of race, religion, gender, or origin. The Association provides an environment that promotes and recognizes high standards of ethics, integrity, honor, courtesy, and professionalism, in order to develop and maintain citizen confidence in the Law Enforcement Community.
