The North Dakota Department of Agriculture's Free Garden Project is looking for individuals willing to donate extra produce as many food pantries lack fresh vegetables.

Many are unaware that food pantries accept fresh produce. The NDDA Free Garden Project invites backyard gardeners, farmers, market vendors and even large quantity vegetable growers to take part by planting an extra row in their gardens.

The Free Garden Project will be present at the Dakota Garden Expo this weekend. Stop by their booth for additional information and to pick up a 'Hunger Garden' sign to put in your garden to show that you support their mission.

The Dakota Garden Expo will be Friday from 3 - 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Bismarck Civic Center.
