Emma Watson is taking a break from acting to pursue a degree in English, but she already has a PhD in romantic timing.

On Jan. 5, the 'Harry Potter' star announced her split with longtime boyfriend Will Adamowicz mere seconds before compromising photos of him hit the Internet. The very next day, the actress was spotted on a romantic island vacation with a new beau -- and he's Oxford University's "Most Eligible Bachelor"!

The 23-year-old Emma, who herself attended Oxford, is dating rugby hunk Matt Janney. The 21-year-old is pursuing a degree in languages at the university, and speaks French, Spanish and Russian. He was also voted his team's best-looking player. (You can see why here.)

An insider dishes on their blossoming relationship: "It's early days but they're very much in to each other. Matt's a real hit with the girls but he may have finally met his match. She doesn't suffer fools gladly. But Matt's a lovely guy, charismatic and intelligent. They make a great couple."

Emma and Matt appear to be enjoying their first getaway together, hitting the beach at a Caribbean resort days before the actress is due to present at the Golden Globes. They didn't hold back on the PDA, either, as video of a romantic beach stroll shows. A guest at the resort reports: "They didn't have a care in the world. Matt was very protective of Emma -- often putting his arm around her."

Watson's rep says the actress and wealthy Oxford grad Adamowicz broke up over summer and are no longer in contact with each other. Photos that seem to show Adamowicz with cocaine leaked onto the Internet earlier this week. He denies that drugs appear in the pictures.

The 'Bling Ring' star is taking a break from acting to finish her degree at Brown University in Rhode Island. Her next film, 'Noah,' hits theaters in March.
