You know you live a COLD area when even one of the nation's mightiest rivers freezes over for miles. But the Missouri River in the Bismarck-Mandan area is beginning its spring thaw a little early this year.

Bismarck Parks and Recreation began working on the boat ramp at Keelboat landing on Monday (Feb 21), clearing and readying it for use.

A mere week ago, Parks & Rec was dealing with a flooded parking lot at the landing due to large chunks of ice on the river.

The Fox Island and Misty River ramps are also up and running.

Happy fishing and boating!
