Today, Bismarck - Mandan saw all the kids head back to school for the start of another year. For me... it's a bit bittersweet.

My youngest child started Kindergarten today. That's always an interesting moment when you think about your kids actually going to school for the first time. You think back to the day they were born, that first drive back to the house, first time they crawled, first steps, first words, first time you left them with someone else overnight... the list goes on and on.

Unfortunately for me, because of the career that I love so much, I end up missing some of these moments. As I did this morning. It was my youngest's first day of school, and I couldn't see her off as I had a commitment at work that required me to be in the office before they left for the bus. I wish I could have been there... but in the big scheme of life, it's more important that I keep providing for them the best way I know how.

It's one of the unfortunate trade-off's you have to make when you get into Radio as a serious career. You will miss some moments because the job.

Fortunately for me, I have an amazing wife that makes sure to send me pictures and messages. The little things that help me keep connected to the ones I love.

:'( I can't believe my babies are all grown up now! Where did the time go?
