EXTREME HEAT for Bismarck-Mandan Today

Excessive heat will radiate through out the capital city and surrounding counties today as the high temperatures will be near 96 degrees and heat indices near the century mark.

This means taking the necessary precautions including resting in the shade if working outside, drink plenty of fluids especially water, check on the elderly and make sure your pets and animals have a shaded area with plenty of fresh water. The local forecast does have a slight chance of showers tonight, with the unstable air and humidity, the chance of severe weather is possible late this evening.
