Season 6 of The Voice saw Scranton, North Dakota native Kat Perkins make it all the way to the top 5 in the competition. Season 8 may feature a performer who calls Fargo home.

Michael Leier announced on his Facebook page in early February that he had auditioned and asked friends, family and followers to tune in to night one of the premiere on Monday night (Feb. 23). Night two commences tonight (Tue. Feb. 24).

A handful of other Fargo natives are rumored to have also auditioned this year.

Natalie Shaw posted on her page last fall that she was working on a video audition for the show, in which she sang Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" -- a choice tailored specifically for judge Adam Levine, who so far has not recruited a single performer for his team.

Joseph Bommersbach, a Fargo North High School alum from Kindred, ND, auditioned and made it through the first round; he will next head to Chicago for round two.

Finally, Mark Lindquist of Fargo, while at the Chicago auditions this past weekend, did not make it through to the next round.
