Fighter Jet Lands on Stool on Deck of Aircraft Carrier [VIDEO]
The day started off pretty normally for Marine Corps Captain William Mahoney when he climbed into his fighter plane, but things got interesting quickly as his landing gear malfunctioned shortly after takeoff.
Flying the $30 million single seat AV-8B, Captain Mahoney's only thought after experiencing the malfunction was "How do I land this thing on an aircraft carrier safely?"
After talking with the tower, the plan was to have the Captain do a controlled landing, placing the front of the plane on a custom built stool they were securing to the deck.
The stunt was a success! The Marine Corps has released the video of the entire situation for you.
I don't know about you... but that's some Top Gun stuff if I've ever seen it!
