The Morton County Fair is officially under way in New Salem.

The 56th annual installment of the event began adjacent to Salem Sue on Wednesday night (Aug. 3) with the 4-H Horse Show and a full slate of events is planned for Thursday.

The 4-H General Achievement Day judging will begin this morning at 8:30am with another 4-H Horse Show at 10:30am.

The day will also consist of 4-H exhibits and a Rabbit and Poultry show.

The Morton County Fair continues through Sunday evening. Admission for the Morton County fair is $9 for adults and $6 for seniors and children. Kids under 5 get in free. Wristbands are also available for purchase which will allow you to get into the fair every day. Those are $24 for adults and $15 for kids.
