Due to expected heavy rain later today, the National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a flash flood watch for western and central North Dakota.

The NWS expects thunderstorms to impact the area this afternoon, bringing possibilities of heavy rain, large hail, strong winds, and tornadoes, according to The Bismarck Tribune.

The quick, heavy rainfall could lead creeks, streams, and low-lying areas to flood.
