It's no secret, pretty much every little leaguer - boy or girl -playing baseball growing up has lived that dream a trillion times...

...walking out to the mound, 7th game of the World Series, pitching a perfect game, and you need just 3 outs to get it done. I've gone over that scenario too many times when I was with the Allied Gardens Indians in San Diego - my only problem was that is where MY career ended, I never played baseball past the age of 12. Check it out Bismarck, keep your eyes on Century Hugh grad Cade Feeney!

Take a quick second and imagine the odds of getting drafted by a Major League Baseball team

It's not an easy road whatsoever. According to hsbaseballweb.com "

  • Less than eleven in 100, or about 10.5 percent, of NCAA senior male baseball players will get drafted by a Major League Baseball (MLB) team.
  • Approximately one in 200, or approximately 0.5 percent of high school senior boys playing interscholastic baseball will eventually be drafted by an MLB team.

The "odds" are made to be shattered

One Bismarck native has just proved that dreams can become a reality. After graduating from Century, Cade went on to make a name for himself at North Dakota State - The Bison were thrilled to have him - Cade was a two-time All-Summit League First Team pitcher, and this was after a brilliant High School career with Century - the 2019 Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of North Dakota.

The BIG LEAGUES came calling...

All I can say now is, SUDDENLY I'm a Boston Red Sox fan :)
