Gas Station Employee Foils Robbery, Loses Job
Superman wouldn't have been fired for saving the day, would he?
One Lexington, KY gas station employee is being fired for doing just that.
According to Lex 18, earlier this week Betty Green was handed a note by a man who appeared to come in for some beer. The note was a demand for the money in the till. He then lifted his shirt to reveal the gun tucked into his waste band.
She instinctively responded "No."
The man laughed, took his beer, and hit the road. You'd think she'd be seen as a hero after foiling a robbery attempt, right?
WRONG! In fact, SHE WAS FIRED!
Turns out corporate policy when it comes to anyone who attempts to rob a store is to give them what they want, then hit the panic button. She was fired for not following policy.
Now, I understand the need for corporate policies... but really???
