Gas prices in North Dakota are taking a tumble towards the $2 mark ever so slightly.

According to AAA, the North Dakota statewide average price is at $2.19, and on Gasbuddy.com, the average is $2.17. This puts both estimates 50 cents cheaper per gallon than this time last year, which puts the prices on the same trend that have been developing this summer, just as we previously reported. Currently, about one-fifth of the gas stations in the state are below $2 per gallon and the statewide average is expected to creep toward that mark over the next several weeks, as stated by AAA.

Gasbuddy.com says that drivers throughout the country are paying the cheapest summer gas prices they have at the pump in over a decade.
