Saturday, April 7th is National Beer Day, which also makes Friday, April 6th New Beer's Eve. Feel free to celebrate accordingly, but please drink responsibly.

National Day Calendar in Mandan has the right idea. In case you just thought National Beer Day just celebrated the history of beer, it's actually a lot more than that. It's the celebration of when the Cullen-Harrison Act was signed by Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1933. The act allowed the citizens of the country to purchase, sell, and drink beer of a 4 percent alcohol by volume. Basically, it's when alcohol became legal after Prohibition.

So, what's New Beer's Eve? It's the equivalent of New Year's Eve, but just with more beer. Granted, not everyone partakes in the festivities the same way as when the ball would drop, but some do. By some, we mean beer drinkers.

Regardless of your beer preference, there's no wrong way to go about it. Whether you prefer an ale, stout, lager, pilsner, porter, IPA, or something different altogether, there's no wrong way to celebrate National Beer Day and/or the preceding New Beer's Eve.

Enjoy it, and again, please drink responsibly! Cheers!
