How Redneck is North Dakota?
The website took just two variables to determine a 'redneck score' for each state. They calculated the amount of mobile homes per 100 housing units and the amount of Walmarts per 1,000,000 people.
They then added those two numbers together to determine each state's 'redneck score.'
In North Dakota, there are 9 mobile homes per 100 housing units and 6.28 Walmarts per 1,000,000 people. Of course North Dakota has less than 1,000,000 residents so we assume they extrapolated the data.
Anyway, 9 + 6.28 is 15.28 which is the value of North Dakota's 'redneck score.'
When comparing that number with the rest of the states, North Dakota is the 31st most redneck state in the country meaning it is in the bottom half of 'redneck states.'
Depending on who you are, you may be happy about that or maybe it makes you upset.
