Carson Wentz and the Eagles were hoping he would be good to play this Thursday against the Jets. Unfortunately, that won't be the case.

Wentz, who threw on the field for about an hour before the preseason game on Saturday night said he still felt sore when he threw.

According to the Philadelphia Eagles, Wentz went for a CT scan which showed that his 10th rib has healed 100 percent but unfortunately his 11th rib is still only 60 percent healed.

“It’s frustrating as all injuries are. I was obviously hoping to get out there one more time in the preseason, but it kind of is what it is,” Wentz told reporters. “I’m going to still try to learn as much as I can and get ready for Cleveland.”

Wentz hopefully should be fully healed within the next couple of weeks but it still is not clear when he will see the field again. Sam Bradford will be the starting QB with Chase Daniel being the No. 2 guy on the depth chart.

Earlier in the offseason it was reported that Wentz may not even be dressed for many, if any, games this season. This has nothing to do with Wentz's talent. The Eagles expect Wentz to to be their quarterback of the future and they want to be patient with his development in the NFL.
