JayAre of Cali Swag District Dies

Sad news to report from the hip-hop world as JayAre from the group Cali Swag District died Friday, June 6. The news was first announced by California rapper Cobe Obeah on Twitter. He was 25 years old.

MTV News reports that JayAre (Cahron Childs) suffered from sickle cell anemia and was admitted to the hospital on Thursday night. He later died after a cardiac arrest.

JayAre is the second member of Cali Swag District that has died since the group became popular for their hit 'Teach Me How to Dougie' back in 2010. Member M-Bone died in 2011 when he was murdered in a drive-by shooting.

Since 2011, Cali Swag District has performed and recorded as a trio, having released a mixtape earlier this year titled 'The District' which also featured Ty Dolla $ign and Waka Flocka Flame.
