No, I don't have a cool video to go with this memory. I don't think I will ever have that kind of free time to be able to put together a video as cool as that.

Even without that kind of time and dedication, Christmas Jammies were always a bit part of the holiday, even more so now that I have kids of my own.

It started when I was younger. It was the only gift we were allowed to open on Christmas Eve. We'd open them up, put them on, and head off to bed. Once we all woke up, we'd all gather in the living room and start to sort through our gifts, still in our Christmas Jammies.

As we all started to grow up, our traditions changed with them. The traditional Christmas Morning routine fell way to a family gathering Christmas Eve night so that we could spend Christmas Morning with our own growing families. While a lot has changed with how we celebrate Christmas in my Mothers house, one thing hasn't. Our Christmas Jammies are still the first gift we all open, and we do not start opening other gifts until we all have them on. (Which is why you see me in a button down and flannel bottoms... I didn't bring a proper top to go with my jammies that year)

This will be the first year I will not be home for Christmas. While I won't be there with them, one thing will never change. The Christmas Jammies will always be the first gift I, and my children, open on Christmas Eve and nobody can open another gift until we all have them on.
