Justin Timberlake represented for Memphis, the home of the Blues, when he teamed up with country maverick Chris Stapleton to deliver a bluesy rendition of "Drink You Away" at the 2015 CMA Awards on Wednesday night (Nov. 4).

The R&B crooner and CMAs’ Best New Artist turned the soulful ballad, which is from Timberlake’s 2013 album, The 20/20 Experience, into a bluesy anthem with a little bit of country twang to it. The dynamic duo then mashed the song up with Stapleton's “Tennessee Whiskey,” off his debut effort, Traveller, and segued into a lively jam with a horn section.

Timberlake’s falsetto meshed beautifully with Stapleton’s growling baritone and by the time they finished their duet, the crowd was on their feet and cheering. Joining them onstage was Stapleton’s wife Mogane, who added her feathery vocals to their rendition as well.

The performance was so enthralling that fellow country star Keith Urban was spotted videotaping the duo’s medley. And after watching it for ourselves, we have to say it was indeed a stellar performance from the Tennessee-based artists.

Last month, Timberlake became the youngest inductee of the Memphis Music Hall of Fame. Al Green, B.B. King, Three 6 Mafia and Isaac Hayes are just some of the lauded artists to be inducted.
