Anyone hoping to go shopping at Kirkwood Mall on Thanksgiving Day is out of luck.

In a news release, CBL Properties, which owns the Kirkwood Mall said that all of their properties will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Kirkwood Mall was closed on Thanksgiving Day in 2016 too.

“The support that we received last year when we made this decision was overwhelmingly positive,” said Stephen Lebovitz, President and CEO, CBL Properties in the news release. “It is based on this feedback from our retail partners, employees of CBL and retailers at our properties, as well as the customers in our markets that we made the decision to again close our centers on Thanksgiving Day.”

It should be noted that stores with exterior entrances will have the option to be open on Thanksgiving Day however. Patrons will just be unable to enter the actual mall itself. It's not clear which stores with exterior entrances may choose to remain open on Thanksgiving quite yet.

USA Today released a list of retailers who have already announced. that will close on Thanksgiving earlier this month. JC Penny which has an exterior entrance at the Kirkwood Mall is among the national retailers not mentioned on that list. That does not mean JC Penny will be open though.

Those looking to get a jump start on Black Friday, will still be able to take advantage early in the day. Kirkwood Mall will open at 6am on Black Friday.
