Jocelyne and Monique Lamoureux returned home to North Dakota on Thursday (March 8th) for the first time since the U.S. Women's Hockey Team won the gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The twin sisters were honored in a community celebration in Grand Forks at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.

The homecoming for the Lamoureux twins couldn't have been more fitting, as it happened on International Women's Day.

Both of the sisters were also vocal about the University of North Dakota cutting the women's hockey program in interviews with Valley News Live.

Monique Lamoureux-Morando stated, "It's not fun to come here and not see pictures of women's hockey players on the wall, and to not have a locker room anymore."

"President Kennedy, who was very instrumental in the cuts that have happened, is now looking at leaving the university," said Jocelyne Lamoreux-Davidson.
