Man Breaks into N.M. Home, Bakes Potato & Rakes Leaves
In one of the latest bizarre break-in cases, a man in Hobbs, N.M. intruded upon a home, where he proceeded to bake a potato and rake leaves.
A resident of the home awoke early this morning (Jun 9) to find 45-year-old Patrick Lynn Waits in her kitchen, a potato baking in her microwave. When she asked him what he thought he was doing, he told her simply that he was preparing a potato.
The resident asked him to go, at which time he left the potato in the microwave and stepped outside -- to begin raking leaves in the resident's yard.
The resident told Waits that she would like to pay him for his service in order to keep him there long enough for police to arrive.
When he was arrested, Waits was slurring his words and stumbling over his own feet. It is unknown whether or not he has representation at this time.
