Tuesday most of us were recovering from a long, holiday weekend but a few young ladies were prepared for the cross town basketball rivalry of Mandan vs. Bismarck.The last time these teams met their game was delayed for four days due to the Civic Center power outage, at that meeting BHS ladies topped Mandan ladies 68- 51. Last night's rivalry took the state ranked Demons to the home of the Braves.

BHS topped the Braves in the first half with a score of 26-19, then Mandan ran the second half leading 65-55. Mandan Braves laid in 3 pointers from McKayla Howling Wolf, Hannah Hanson with a closing shot provided by Makenzie Schmidt. The game ending score had Mandan on top 66- 58. Two Mandan Braves players ran up double digit points Courtney Goetz and McKayla Howling Wolf.

The winning factor said Goetz "We're a fast paced team".

The current record in the west region  for BHS is 11-3 and Mandan 7-7.
