Michael Kaip got the surprise of his life this morning at Mandan High School. USA Today Sports and the North Dakota National Guard recognized him as one of 13 inspirational students across our country.

Brig. Gen Al Dohrmann honored Michael Kaip this morning in front of all of his classmates "From what I’ve come to learn about Michael, he epitomizes the ideals of teamwork and service before himself (and) that is so critical to success. Michael for your efforts and actions, you have inspired your teammates and we recognize you today for your leadership qualities.”

Michael Kaip lives with cerebral palsy but he has not let that slow him down he has served as varsity manager of baseball and hockey at Mandan High School. Michael is also a founding member of Dreams in Motion which provides organized sports for children with disabilities including hockey, sledding and basketball.
