Part of this week's preparations for the Minnesota Vikings' playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday, January 10th, most surely involved how the team would handle the bitter cold weather expected at TCF Bank Stadium.

According to ESPN, temperatures are expected to hit a high of 1 degree on Sunday for the Vikings' first outdoor playoff game in more than 39 years.

If the temperature is below zero at kickoff, which takes place at 12:05 p.m. CST, the game would be one of the six coldest playoff games in NFL history.

To help fans combat the cold, the Vikings have announced that they will provide hand warmers at the entry gates as fans head into TCF Bank Stadium. Caribou Coffee will also be on-site with free coffee in the Vikings' fan zone, according to ESPN.

The University of Minnesota has also announced that it will open Mariucci Arena as a 'warming house' for fans. The arena will be open three hours prior to kickoff.

The team will also allow fans to bring in non-battery-operated blankets, along with styrofoam, cardboard, and newspapers to place under their feet in the bleachers.

The Minnesota Vikings won the NFC North championship for the first time since 2009 when they defeated the Green Bay Packers 20-13 on Sunday, January 3rd.
