In an attempt to upgrade its Division I FCS opponents, North Dakota State announced a two-game contract with Eastern Washington for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

Over the last four years, NDSU and Eastern Washington have combined to win each year's FCS Championship, with NDSU winning the last three.

The two teams are also ranked at the top of both the media and coaches poll to begin this season.

Here's how the schedule will shake out, according to InForum:

The Eagles will play at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome on Sept. 10, 2016. NDSU will travel to Roos Field and EWU’s red artificial turf on Sept. 16, 2017. The teams last met in the 2010 quarterfinals in Cheney, Wash., with the Eagles taking a dramatic 38-31 overtime win.

The Bison begin the 2014 season on the road against Iowa State on August 30th.
