It was a back-and-forth game throughout, but North Dakota State was able to grab the lead in the final minute and defeat Northern Iowa 31-28 in Fargo Saturday afternoon, October 10th.

Quarterback Carson Wentz hit red-shirt freshman wide receiver Darrius Shepherd for an 18-yard touchdown pass with just over thirty seconds left in the game to give the Bison the 31-28 victory.

The Bison were led, once again, by quarterback Carson Wentz, who threw for over 330 yards and four touchdowns. The star QB also ran for 47 yards, which was tops for NDSU.

The Bison defense added two interceptions of Northern Iowa quarterbacks, helping NDSU secure the win.

Northern Iowa was led by quarterback Aaron Bailey, who rushed for 154 yards, including an 83-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

The Bison are now 2-0 in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. They are back in Fargo next weekend, October 17th, to play South Dakota.
