The North Dakota State Bison cemented themselves as a dynasty this afternoon (Jan 4), winning their third straight FCS Championship by defeating Towson 35-7, in Frisco, Texas.

Toyota Stadium was a sea of green and gold as an estimated 17,000 NDSU fans made the trek down to Texas for the game today.

NDSU got the scoring started early with a 2-yard run by John Crockett. Towson responded quickly, though, and tied the game up at the end of the first quarter.

Momentum quickly shifted in the second quarter, though, as NDSU blocked a field goal and returned it to the five yard line. Running back Ryan Smith ran it in on the very next play and the Bison took a 14-7 lead.

After an interception by CJ Smith, quarterback Brock Jensen hit Zach Vraa in the endzone to give the Bison a 21-7 lead, heading into halftime.

The Bison wasted very little time before scoring again in the second half. Brock Jensen ran it in from nine yards out to give NDSU a 28-7 lead, with 9:09 left to go in the third quarter.

Sam Ojuri got into the scoring frenzy with a 1-yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter, to extend NDSU's lead to 35-7. That would prove to be the final nail in the coffin, as NDSU went on to win the game by that score.

Coach Craig Bohl closes out his career at NDSU with three straight FCS Championships, three MVC Coach of the Year awards, and a record of 104-32, making him the winningest coach in NDSU history.
