Nick LeDuca, North Dakota State's All-American linebacker, will not practice this week, after separating his shoulder during the the team's win over Charleston Southern.

North Dakota State head coach Chris Klieman made the announcement regarding DeLuca's injury approximately 90 seconds into his weekly press conference Monday, August 29th. You can see the press conference in its entirety above.

Thankfully for the Bison and DeLuca, the star player will have a lot of time to recover. NDSU isn't scheduled to play again until September 10th, when they welcome Eastern Washington to the FargoDome. DeLuca is expected to be reevaluated before that, which will determine whether or not he suits up.

DeLuca joined the Bison football team prior to the 2013 season. Since then, he has become a force to be reckoned with in the FCS.

As a junior last season, DeLuca was named to the All-Missouri Valley Football Conference first team. He was also runner-up for the conference's Defensive Player of the Year award.

Prior to this season, DeLuca was named to the 2016 Butkus Award Watch List, which is presented annually to the country's best linebacker. DeLuca was the only FCS player to make the list.
