North Dakota in the Top 5 in Terms of Fiscal Condition

The top 5 states in the best fiscal condition seem to be clustered in the Midwest with the exception of Alaska being number one. According to CNBC.COM, the criteria used focused on a few key areas including citing revenue shortfalls, budget practices and high levels of debt . It is no surprise the top states are all oil producing states. The top 5 states are Alaska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, and Wyoming.

New Jersey cam in at the very bottom of the list.
