We all know North Dakota is one of the many 'fly over' states. But how many planes actually fly over us?

The website ChampionFlyover.com took on the task of determining how often flights fly to states compared with how many times planes fly over that state.

They looked at the data over a period of 12 months.

Interestingly, Delaware has zero flights going to it. There are no airports in Delaware.

In North Dakota, there are nearly 11,000 flights landing here. ChampionFlyover.com in their analysis tracked 10,726 flights where North Dakota was the destination.

However, not shockingly, significantly more flights fly over North Dakota. In fact, nearly six times as many flights go over North Dakota compared to landing in North Dakota. There were 61,088 flights that flew over North Dakota in the same 12 month period.

Aside from Delaware, the state with the most drastic difference between 'fights to' vs 'flights over' is in West Virginia. They had 2,387 flights to the state compared with 466,364 flights over it.

States like Alaska and Hawaii rarely have any flights go over them.
