North Dakota NFL Draft Recap
Now that NFL Draft weekend is over let's take a look at where athletes who played in North Dakota or who have ties to North Dakota ended up:
Carson Wentz was clearly one of the highest profile guys not just in North Dakota but in the NFL draft.
The Philadelphia Eagles took him as the second overall pick in this year's draft.
The NDSU offensive lineman was taken as the 155th overall pick in the 5th round of the NFL draft by the Indianapolis Colts.
NDSU CB CJ Smith will join his former teammate Carson Wentz in Philadelphia after being picked up as an undrafted free agent.
Acting as a FB and TE at NDSU, Andrew Bonnet will join the Carolina Panthers.
NDSU TE Luke Albers was invited to attend the Arizona Cardinals minicamp which begins at the end of this week.
The NDSU Offensive Guard will join the Atlanta Falcons at their minicamp.
NDSU punter Ben Lecompte will show off his leg to the Chicago Bears.
Connor McGovern played college ball at the University of Missouri but he grew up in Fargo. He and Carson Wentz were the only players in the 2016 NFL Draft who were actually from North Dakota.
McGovern was drafted in the 5th round by the Denver Broncos.
Will Ratelle was a linebacker at UND but has been working on making the transition to fullback. The Atlanta Falcons signed Ratelle as an undrafted free agent with the intention of trying him out as a fullback.
