Oklahoma Man Flees Courtroom Mid-Trial

Nineteen-year-old Israel Pointer, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, launched a desperate attempt to evade lock-up -- by bolting from the courtroom itself, right in the middle of his trial.

Facing charges of armed robbery, Pointer had just had the news from the judge that his bond had been revoked. Petrified of returning to jail, Pointer make a break for it, and even managed to escape deputies before lawyers took him down in the courthouse hallway.

Court surveillance cameras documented the action.

One of the attorneys who tackled Pointer was the Oklahoma County DA himself, David Prater, who says his workplace often resembles "being in the Wild West."
