Mandan Middle School will host the Rachel's Challenge event tonight (Jan 25), from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m.

The event, named for Rachel Joy Scott, the first victim in the notorious Columbine High School shooting of 1999, will hold presentations during this time in the school's cafetorium.

Presentations [for the Rachel's Challenge event] are offered in communities throughout the country using video footage of the massacre, as well as Rachel's drawings and writings to encourage respect, kindness and compassion.

The mission of the event is to promote awareness and prevention of bullying and violence. It is recommended for kids middle-school-aged and over, though all are welcome to attend.
