Like Cal Ripkin Jr. or Brett Favre, one New Jersey Radio talent always found a way to perform. But just like Cal and Brett, all streaks must eventually come to an end.

WOND-AM Atlantic City's Pinky Kravitz called in sick for the first time on May 15, breaking his streak of never missing a shift in his 56 years on the air.

Pinky woke up that morning not feeling well and had his wife take him to the hospital. Monday, he underwent heart surgery.

Dave Coskey, Longport Media's General Manager, says this about his most dedicated employee

I can tell you that in the past, Pinky has done his show from a hospital without anyone knowing that he was doing it from a hospital, including his doctors, I would imagine.

While the prognosis is good for Kravitz, it's is unknown when he will return to work.
