Register for Youth Day at 2014 United Tribes International Powwow

The United Tribes International Powwow invites all school classes and youth groups to Youth Day on Friday, Sept. 5.

Youth Day begins at 9 a.m. on the United Tribes campus, east of the college administration building on Sisseton Road.

Attendees can expect a day full of educational activities including:

• Tribal Music
• Cultural Entertainment
• Audience Participation

Billy Mills, the only American to win an Olympic Gold Medal in the 10,000 Meter Run, will be a special guest. His gold medal win in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics is known as one of the greatest moments in Olympic sports history. The youth will also be invited to participate in the 1 p.m. grand entry in the powwow arena.

All school groups are invited with no entry cost to the students, teachers or escorts. Lunches can be purchased through the many vendors available or each group may bring their own lunch.
