Rita Ora will be making her silver screen debut as Mia Grey in the book-to-movie adaption of ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ and she could not be more nervous about it.

“I’m not even going to sugarcoat it,” the singer revealed. “Of course I’m nervous. It’s my first movie, you know.”

She went on to add, “A music video is so different to doing a movie. I was so scared of all the people on set, and [Director Sam Taylor-Johnson] is so nice and she made me feel very comfortable.”

There was a lot of hype, both good and bad, surrounding the announcement that the ‘Fifty Shades’ trilogy would be turned into a movie. When asked if she personally found anything scandalous about author E.L. James’ iconic series, Rita responded, “Of course! But that’s what attracted me to it even more. I mean, everybody has a different opinion, but for me, you know, shock value is what I remember.”

PopSugar met up with the star before her performance in Cannes at the Belvedere Vodka party, where she confessed that acting isn’t the only thing that makes her nervous.

“I get so nervous, I get belly pains before I go on stage,” she said of her pre-show jitters. “I’m the weirdest person. I need no music. I need to focus. I get so weirded [out].”

Nerves are never fun, but Rita puts on an awesome show either way. Her debut movie role will likely be just as great!
