Future EGOT winner Shawn Mendes will see his acting debut take place on CW show The 100 later tonight (January 21).

The "Stitches" singer will appear on the show during its Season 3 premiere. According to a clip from the upcoming episode, Mendes plays a character who gets caught trying to steal a bracelet. Not particularly adept at theft, he's caught and swiftly "punished" by being forced to sing a song at a piano, keeping things decidedly on brand for Mendes, even in a show described as a post-apocalyptic drama.

Mendes implored his fans to watch tonight's Season 3 premiere via Twitter:

Twitter is a fitting place to advertise the episode, as Mendes was initially cast on the show after shamelessly tweeting its writers, proving that if you’re marginally famous and look like a CW star, you can do anything you put your mind to.

With showrunner Jason Rothenberg's response, a star was born. Well, a star was further nurtured — Mendes was already well on his way to fame, thanks to the success of his first single "Life of the Party" and an opening slot on Taylor Swift's 1989 World Tour.

Check out a clip of Mendes' appearance on The 100 in the video above, and watch tonight at 9PM EST on the CW.
