Today, The Bismarck Civic Center gave us a sneak peek into the expansion project that is nearing completion.

The new space is about 60% complete, and will be used for the first time in the coming weeks for the Williston Basin Petroleum Conference and then the Antique's Road Show.

The $27 million project is currently on budget, with money left in the contingency budget for any unforeseen overages. Despite early setbacks when the excavating began, the project is also back on schedule, with completion expected before the end of the year.

The new space will create the largest exhibition space in North Dakota, and allow the Civic Center to host bigger events, and possibly larger touring concerts. The entire space, when completely open, spans over 550 feet end-to-end, giving the Civic Center an additional 50,000 square feet to work with.
