Sunflower Fields Named Most Beautiful Place(s) in North Dakota
However you look at it, it's never a bad thing to have something named "most beautiful place" in any state.
Whether you know it or not, North Dakota grows more sunflowers than any other state in the U.S. In fact, the state has 51% of the nation's crop of sunflowers. If you should ever stumble across a field of them, it's quite a sight.
In an article from House Beauty titled "The Most Beautiful Places in All 50 States," North Dakota's sunflower fields take that title. The majority of North Dakota's sunflower fields are located near the central region of the state.
If you're not necessarily impressed with sunflowers or think the fields aren't necessarily something to be prideful about, then think about this; In Spain, which is considered one of the most beautiful countries in the world, sunflower seeds are a very popular snack food (just as they are in the U.S.). Spain buys nearly half of their sunflower exports from the U.S., which as mentioned, has the majority of sunflower crops blooming in North Dakota.
