Kicking off the New Year with a new question of the week with the Bismarck Bobcats.

We know the guys love to play hockey, but this week’s question is asking them what other sport they would play.

In a hockey battle of #1 vs #2, it was 2nd ranked Minnesota Duluth that came out on top of the #1 UND Fighting Hawks on Friday night, by a final of 5-2.

The last time many of us saw Drake Caggiula and Nick Schmaltz on the ice, they were helping the University of North Dakota win their eighth national championship. Wednesday night, they'll both be suiting up in the NHL.

While the well-deserved hype in North Dakota is surrounding football with both Carson Wentz, and the NDSU Bison, the Fighting Hawks of UND have a hockey title to defend in the upcoming season, and the conference media has taken notice.

The Bismarck Park and Recreation District broke ground on an expansion to the existing Schaumberg Arena in Bismarck. The new complex will be known as the Capital Ice Complex.

The Bismarck Bobcats began their 20th season with a 3-1 preseason loss on the road against the Minot Minotauros Tuesday night, September 6th.

The University of North Dakota Men's Hockey team will play rival Minnesota in Las Vegas in 2018.
