The publication Insider recently listed 'The Best Record-Breaking Attraction in Every State.' North Dakota's is not exactly a big secret, especially to the Bismarck-Mandan area.

If you take a short drive from our area to the west down I-94, you'll come upon New Salem, and a giant structure of a cow named Sue, also known as Salem Sue. She takes the title as 'The Best Record-Breaking Attraction in North Dakota.'

Salem Sue holds the record for being the 'World's Largest Holstein Cow.' Insider had to say this about her:

Salem Sue's spot atop School Hill allows her to be visible to drivers along I-94 for miles. The 12,000-pound, 38-foot-tall fiberglass Holstein cow is the largest in the world and was built in 1974 to help promote dairy farmers.

Not only did Sue earn the title of being the best record-breaking attraction in the state, but she's also the featured attraction at the intro to the list of every record-breaking attraction in each state.

Let's not forget that North Dakota is also home to the 'World's Largest Buffalo' (Jamestown), 'World's Largest Catfish' (Wahpeton), 'World's Largest Sandhill Crane' (Steele), and although it's not exactly record-breaking, every site along the 'Enchanted Highway' is definitely worth a drive.

There are more attractions in North Dakota than most people, especially those from out-of-state, might realize.
