Ever wonder how safe your vehicle is? Maybe you took that into consideration when you purchased it, or maybe you're just not sure. Well, now we know.

According to 24/7 Wall St., a list of the most dangerous cars in America has been compiled. In order to do so, crashworthiness evaluation results were reviewed from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

As only vehicles tested were those that are still likely driven on the roads today, they only reviewed generations of cars which included the 2005 model year or later. Several models were tested with front, side, and roof crash impacts, while also testing rollovers and rear-end collisions. The following is the list of the 12 most dangerous vehicles currently on the roads:

  1. 2000-2005 Dodge Neon
  2. 1996-2005 GMC Safari
  3. 2001-2006 GMC Sierra 1500
  4. 2006-2011 Hyundai Accent
  5. 2001-2005 Kia Optima
  6. 2006-2009 Kia Rio
  7. 2000-2006 Mazda MPV
  8. 2000-2006 Neon Sentra
  9. 1999-2005 Pontiac Grand Am
  10. 2002-2005 Saturn L-Series
  11. 2005-2008 Suzuki Forenza
  12. 2003-2005 Suzuki Grand Vitara

So what does this mean? Are these vehicles that much less safe? Maybe. Just be careful on the roads. A car is only as safe as its driver allows it to be. Be safe, everyone.
